Infrastructure
The area is attractive for investment activities due to the low cost of land plots, good ecological living conditions, preferential taxation, short distance to the railway, ramification and good condition of highways, as well as the presence of a large number of unused real estate objects. The Grodno-Mosty-Lida-Minsk railway, the Grodno-Minsk highway, republican and local highways pass through the district;
Due to the rich historical heritage, unique nature in the region there are promising territories for the development of tourism with infrastructure facilities: Bershtovsky and Prinemansky natural landscapes, parks of republican significance in the villages of Bolshoye Mozheikovo and Rutkevichi, a fortress church in the village of Murovanka - a monument of history and culture of the 15th century, palaces of the Drutsky-Lyubetsky and Chetvertinsky - the former owners of Shchuchin and Zheludok, and much more.
In order to attract domestic and foreign investments for the further development of export-oriented industries in the Shchuchinsky district, there are three land plots with a total area of 38.81 hectares, which, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated April 16, 2002 No. 208, are included in the free economic zone Grodnoinvest.
One of the plots with a total area of 6.71 hectares is occupied by a FEZ resident – JSC Shchuchin Plant Avtoprovod. Funds released as a result of benefits provided to a FEZ resident, the main of which are exemption from income tax and real estate tax, allow the company to modernize production, improve quality and increase the competitiveness of its products.
Partially used is the land plot located on the land adjacent to the town of Shchuchin from the south-eastern side with a total area of 30.08 hectares.
The land plot of the SEZ located in Shchuchin on the Michurin street is not involved with a total area of 2.02 hectares.
A special legal regime has been established on the territory of the FEZ, which includes tax and customs benefits. For resident enterprises, the tax burden is reduced by 40%. FEZ residents are exempt from paying customs duties when importing equipment, raw materials and materials. Protection of investments and deposits invested in the territory of FEZ «Grodnoinvest» is guaranteed by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and international treaties of the Republic of Belarus and implies: the owner's right to use income from investment activities, free disposal of his capital and property; the right to return their share in the property of the established enterprise; free transfer of income, including in foreign currency, received from investment activities in the FEZ, outside the Republic of Belarus. Interference in the economic or other activities of an enterprise with foreign investments by state bodies and their officials is not allowed.
